The Broken Animal Inn Family Farm

Who We Are

Located in the heart of the American Midwest, The Broken Animal Inn is a small acreage family farm. The property that is home to The Broken Animal Inn has been an active homestead and farm since the 1860s.

What We Do

The Broken Animal Inn is a study in stewardship as we work toward the preservation and propagation of heritage breed chickens, the restoration and utilization of old barns, and the rescue and rehabilitation of various types of barnyard animals.

We are dedicated to raising happy, healthy heritage breed chickens free of antibiotics and added hormones, all-natural eggs from free-range chickens, rabbits and naturally grown produce. The Broken Animal Inn also offers naturally grown seeds, bedding plants and vegetables in season.

The Broken Animal Inn fosters the use of nature and nurture in the successful husbandry of healthy plants and animals that are not chemically, hormonally or genetically altered. We do not use herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers anywhere on the farm, in the garden or in our home.

The Broken Animal Inn offers "A Farm Day Away" for folks interested in spending an educational and fulfilling day on a small acreage, working family farm. Our community involvement extends into partnering with local citizens and not-for-profit organizations in order to drive Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Community Gardening projects and Backyard Flock initiatives.
